it's time to update my blog isn't it.
so let's start where i promised to leave off! with graduation ceremony.
ok admittedly i didn't feel totally emo during the ceremony, but i'm not going to force myself to feel something i "should" be feeling - maybe i'll look back and see that it was really significant.
ah well the effects of merger.
but really the ceremony wasn't too much to shout about, other than our dearest guest-of-honour's advertisement for the boon lay youth club.
oh and it was one last chance for me to see my juniors before we leave for the junior college section, and well it's going to be a pretty long time before i get to see them again, and they've been very nice to me (even if i haven't been too nice to them, especially all of them), so i'll remember you guys.
ah well it was sort of emotional i guess. but not in the teary kind of way.
and i must say that the cheering and singing was possibly the best i've ever heard in my 4 years here.
after graduation ceremony was class chalet!
had quite a bit of fun for this one. especially the gaming portion of it. =)
i went half-crazy during the saturday night card session (and i went all croaky a la psl cheering sessions) and it was great stuff to see lots of people (even the scholars came down to pasir ris from boarding) getting together for the last time.
sad that the teachers couldn't come though.
and i must say that mdm cai isn't as bad as we thought she is. we've fairly villified her haven't we, but yes she is still prone to those mood swings.
sunday was avenue q and grad night! great stuff this one.
avenue q was a good chance to reunite with all the apcg people! plus a few others, including a certain claire whom i had met under the most random of circumstances.
this is how it went:
after hmt o's i was walking around J8 when i bumped into theodore, who happened to also be walking around for no real reason.
then as we were standing outside popular this happened (theo! i'm still not sure what to say xD):
me: maybe the 4D people (who had been walking around before going to catch a movie) are down there. (i pointed to the 2nd floor atrium where there was a sale going on)
theo: (pointing to a area closed off by curtains) is that a changing room?
well all would have been fine and good if firstly, it looked as if there were more clothes on sale, and secondly (more importantly), it wasn't an open-top area.
and as we were busy reenacting the scene (for lack of anything better to do) claire walked past! and so we got to know each other.
on a sidenote, i so need to get to know more people in my batch.
ok so long story short, theodore introduced me to claire, claire came along on sunday to watch avenue q.
(semi-theatre review coming up)
"avenue q" was terribly hilarious, although it didn't do itself too many favours by petering out ever so slightly after the intermission. seemed to run out of ideas, judging by the ending songs which were remixes of previous ones. then again it's not easy to maintain the level of performance after a break, although this was something "the pillowman" achieved superbly with its chilling story of "the girl who wanted to be jesus" right after the break.
and in always keeping a keen eye (or ear) out for thoughtful laughter (meredith ftw!), "avenue q" didn't really excel there, although as mr kwok pointed out in his own review (much better than mine i'm sure), some songs were rather emotive and had a rather more tender touch than the others.
enjoyed the dirty bits thoroughly (i must admit) though. even the dirtiest amongst us were overwhelmed (and bowled over) by the barrage of sick songs, which says something, and of course the audience obliged with thunderous rounds of applause.
overall, i'd say it's a pretty good show, and a good way to spend a sunday afternoon. =)
the only regret?
NO PICTURES even though i had my camera all ready for camwhoring.
oh well but facebook saves the day! thanks aaron. =)
after avenue q it was off to grad night!
haha it was really enjoyable. it's the last time our batch is going to be together, and what a time it was.
loved all the weird costumes (bryan glenn and sungming among others!) and the atmosphere was just awesome.
ok everyone's stolen what i want to say...
except that not everyone got their picture up on the slides! =)
yes the infamous "ash ketchum" photo strikes back! although some people say i look rather punkish.
thanks to KATE for the picture! and whoever happened to be holding on to kate at that point in time and take the picture (i couldn't see without my glasses), and whoever said i looked like ash ketchum! xD
my gosh all the memories of kate (the 51st facil! xD) and apcg are flooding back. love it.
but back to grad night, it was totally fun (especially the songs! gosh the batch went a little crazy during that) and the ending. emo yet incredible.
photos on facebook! lots of them (not too many from me though), trust me, but i'm too lazy to tag my own >< so i'll need some help hehe.
and that ends the post i promised! i'll be back with other stuff soon so yep stay around and enjoy the hols.
Thanks to all the blogs i referred to (countless) for html code help :) (esp. cyn' and sixseven)
